HUMAN RIGHTS AND EMPOWERMENT PROJECT LTD/GTE (HREP)

HREPHUMAN RIGHTS AND EMPOWERMENT PROJECT LTD/GTE (HREP) is a non-governmental organization that seeks to make democracy work for every Nigerian, especially the millions of ordinary people caught under the yoke of poverty, unemployment, victimization, intimidation, brutality by law enforcement agents, human rights abuses and all manner of injustice.

At these times when so many Nigerians are cast under the manacles of severe human suffering and hopelessness, stemming from the tempestuous tides of chronic misgovernment and convoluted corruption, HREP strives to bring succor to these millions of dispirited and crestfallen citizens, and to raise a beacon of light to dispel the gloom of hopelessness especially in the hearts of the youth who are apprehensive of a bleak future in an otherwise rich country of theirs.

1. PUBLIC INTEREST/HUMAN RIGHTS LITIGATION/ADVOCACY

Through strategic litigation and advocacy HREP holds government officials accountable for failures of governance, corrupt practices and acts inimical to the welfare of ordinary people.

2. YOUTH EMPOWERMENT HREP

deploys programmes of education, re-orientation, mentoring and motivation to empower millions of Nigerian youths and thus raise a critical mass of patriotic leaders, innovative entrepreneurs, motivated and highly skilled human capital who are disciplined, responsible, selfless and imbued with the requisite positive mental attitude to work, leadership and service. HREP aims at reaching millions of Nigerian youths and positively transforming their lives by equipping them with the critical skills conducive to creativity, innovativeness, productivity and self-reliance, and by that means extricate them from the clutches of debilitating and disempowering privations.
